Sports Sunday is one day when the church thinks
about, prays for, and commits to being a presence
in the local sports community.

Each week around 14 million Australians meet to play
sport. Fields and courts all across our country are
packed with players - and those cheering them on.

Today, the sports club is one of the heartbeats of our
community. And we- the Church are being invited to
be there. The demand for Sports Chaplains is greater

How it Works?

Step 1
Register your interest

Fill out the form to let us know you're
interested in running a Sports Sunday at
your church. You can pick any day that
suits you, or join in on September 10

We will then send you everything you
need to plan a Sports Sunday for your
Church.

Step 2
Get ready

Get ready for Sports Sunday by talking to
your minister about the service plan, and
preparing resources you will use on the
day such as seat drops and videos.

You might also like to announce Sports
Sunday in the lead up to the day, or put
posters up around your chruch.

Step 3
Sports Sunday

The goal of Sports Sunday is to help your
congregation see opportunities to serve
as chaplains in your local sporting
communities.

Ask your congregation if they will consider
"Going" to train and serve as a chaplain,
or "Giving" towards sending someone
else. They can do this by filling out a
Give&Go Card.
